Our Story

  Part I – The Conversation

Prolific Industries got its start from a conversation between me and a pastor friend of mine. His name is Darryl.  He was sharing with me that the original American Standard Version Bible published in 1901 was one of his favorite translations.

The trouble was, this Bible was extremely hard to find in print.  I encouraged him that he could find one, but was firm, stating how difficult it was to buy.  So, jokingly, I told him if no one made the ASV 1901 I would make him one. The latter is exactly what happened.

  Part II – The Transcription

Never having republished a book… let alone the Bible, I wasn’t sure where to start. The only things I had were, a little money, and God’s grace to see it through. With this, I left my career in banking and spent the next fourteen months in a small apartment connecting with several complete strangers to help bring this vision into reality.

Two of them helped find and donate an original American Standard Version Bible published by Thomas Nelson and Sons. To these two I owe a great deal of thanks.  Another connection, and most importantly, was a Typesetter based in Ann Arbor Michigan. He graciously taught me how to design a book.  His craft is so specific he helped match the original in every way possible.  We recreated the font style, size, even the spacing between letters and rows.  This amount of detail makes it so that each word on every page falls in exactly the same place as the original.

With his leading I recreated page headings, the appendixes and hand placed over 80,000 scripture references. This Typesetter had the greatest single impact on this volume and I’m happy to report we are still good friends to this day.

  Part III – The Years

After printing this wonderful Book, I realized I had no clue how to distribute or sell these Bibles. I only possessed a calling to complete it.  Yet, over the years God has been faithful.  After giving away the Bible I promised to my friend Darryl, I moved the rest of the copies to a storage facility where they sat for over a year!

One morning, I woke up with the idea to make them available through Amazon which continues to be a big success. Amazon’s platform has helped us send copies and connect with pastors all over the world.  We’ve shipped Bibles to South Korea, New Zealand, England, and almost all fifty states!

It has been a blessing to speak with each individual that has reached out.  And for those I don’t get to talk to, my team and I pray over every Bible that is sent. I look forward to sending more Bibles as the years go on, and seeing God positively impact my life and those around me.
